Frontman Mustaine co-founded Metallica in 1981 but was fired in 1983 because of drug abuse
and formed Megadeth. Their music was similiar to that of Metallica but was faster and
harsher. The band went through many line-up changes due to Mustaine's mood swings. They got their break in 1985 when their independent album sold well, attracting major labels. Mustaine suffered an injury while on a break in 2002, preventing him from playing guitar, forcing the group to disband. |
