After quitting College, frontman Reznor recorded a Ministry-influenced demo, playing all
instruments himself and sent them around to various labels, most of whom offered him a
contract. After playing with non-industrial metal bands and playing on Lollapalooza 1991, NIN's fan base had expanded dramatically. The band also recorded the soundtrack for the hit computer game, Quake. NIN are responsible for bringing industrial metal to the mainstream. |
