Pantera started in Texas in the early 80's with the current line-up but with Terrence Lee
as the initial vocalist. They released a few albums and when Anselmo replaced Lee in 1986,
did the Pantera sound become what it is today. The band toured with Type O Negative in 1993 and in 1996, after struggling with drug addiction, was pronounced dead for four minutes, after which he made a full recovery. In 2002, the band decided to take a break due to members having side projects, such as Down and Superjoint Ritual. |
