Rammstein was formed by factory-weary proletarians from East Germany, taking their name
from a town involving an air crash which killed 80 people. Singer Lindemann was a one-time Olympic swimmer. The album, Sehnsucht, brought European fame to the band and started headlining concerts for up to 30,000 people. Rammstein are perhaps the only metal band singing in a foreign language whose music is popular in English speaking countries. |
