Static-X was formed when founders Static and Jay left the gothic band, Deep Blue Dream,
and moved to Los Angeles where they met Campos and former guitarist Koichi Fukuda. Their aim was to combine certain elements of techno music and industrial metal with gothic overtones and were signed to Warner Brothers in 1998, when they recorded their debut album, Wisconsin Death Trip. Fukuda left to spend time with his family and was replaced with Eisen. |
