Tool was formed by vocalist Keenan who wanted to create metal music that
was both artistic and heavy. Their songs included detailed instrumental interludes and
this struck a chord with the public which earned them a slot on Lollapalooza 1993. After Lollapalooza 1997, Tool took a break and Keenan formed a side project, A Perfect Circle who were a surprise hit. Tool recorded Lateralus in 2001 which many critics voted to be album of the year. |
