Frontman Ginger started the Wildhearts in London, in 1990,
after being in many unsuccessful glam rock bands. They were an instant hit with London
clubs and after receiving much hype from the press, signed on with EastWest Records, whom
Ginger became an enemy of since they failed to promote the band in America. 1995's P.H.U.Q. was one of the bands greatest albums, despite a suicide attempt by Ginger and various producers working on the album. The band were dropped from EastWest in 1996, but were signed to an independent label in 1997. In 2001, Ginger reunited the Wildhearts' classic line-up. |
