The photos above allow the soldier to accurately range from a distance of 100 to 1000 meters using binoculars. Up to 5 or 600 meters if there is a target standing, a soldier should be able to range using the normal view. You may choose to use the scope or ironsight of you weapon, and cross reference this with the binocular view, or indeed use the sniper range with targets at fixed distances to range.

Ranging is crucial in any tactics to be employed, either defensive, offensive, or evasive. It is one of the basic techniques which all soldiers learn first. It is done with a combination of object references, and the weapons sight. The photos here allow the soldier in OPF, to, using binoculars, establish range, and then to transfer this to their specific weapon sight, or to the normal view.
