Occupational
First Aid Training
The
H.S.A. approved 3 day occupational first aid programme is the current legal
first aid requirement for industry. Order
of Malta certificates issued under this programme are valid for 3 years.
The H.S.A. recommend that occupational first aiders undergo annual
recertification training. There is
a requirement that they must refresh within the 3 year period of certification.
If the certificate expires, the candidate must recertify on a three day
course.
For
groups or organisations who do not have the legal requirement to provide
occupational first aid, the basic first aid programme is available.
The learning is practical orientated with some short relevant theory
sessions. It includes most elements of occupational first aid but it
does not cover the legal requirement in industry.
C.P.R.
We
have a comprehensive C.P.R. course to familiarise people with the basic life
support techniques.
A.E.D.
It
is recognised that, in the case of cardiac arrest, the earlier defribillation
(controlled electric shock to the heart) can be provided, the better the
casualty’s chance of survival. Many
organisations are moving to a position where
Defibrillation
is available on site, using an AED and trained operators.
The Order of Malta Ambulance Corps is facilitating this through the
provision of advice on equipment and as training providers.
Keep in touch for details of this new course coming on stream.
