Garrettstown Wood: This is a scraggy bit of forest near Ballinspittle and Garrettstown. To get there, drive through Kinsale to Ballinspittle. Just the other side of the villege, there will be an O-sign to show you which way to go from there. Grid reference W 58 44.
Garrycloyne: Co. Cork. On the Cork - Mallow Rd (N20). GR W600810.
Glenanaar: Shanballymore, Mallow, Co. Cork.
Glenbower: This is a small forest near Killeagh. To get there, drive out the N25 to Killeagh. The Old Thatch pub is situated at a bad bend in the road. Turn up the laneway just behind the pub - this will lead up to the forest. Grid reference W 99 77.
Glendalough:Laragh, Co. Wicklow. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty in the heart of the Wicklow mountains. The map is an excellent area of steep forest and open mountain. It has been used previously for various Irish and Leinster Champs. etc.. To get there, take the N11 south from Dublin. At Kilmacanogue, turn right onto the R755 to Roundwood, Annamoe and Laragh. Go straight through Laragh and follow the signs for Glendalough. Grid reference T 11 96.
Glengarra: Cahir, Co. Tipperary. Approx. mid-way between Cahir and Mitchelstown on the N8.
Gortin Glen: Omagh, Co. Tyrone. GR H4983.
Gortnamoyagh: Garvagh, Co. Derry. Grid Reference C 76 13.
Gosford: Markethill, Co. Antrim. Grid reference H 97 40.
Gougane Barra: Ballingeary, Co. Cork. Go past ballingeary towards Bantry/Glengarriff. Gougane Barra is signposted from the main road after 4 or 5 miles. Complex open hillside and forest. Either way, this can be a tough spot. GR W082651.
Green Wood: Kilfinnan, Co. Limerick.
I'm not sure exactly where this is. I know it's in the Ballyhoura mountains,
south-west of Kilfinnane. The grid reference shows it a couple of miles
south of Ardpatrick. Grid reference R 65 18.
