Saleen: Co. Cork. This is actually the same wood as Rostellan, only nearer Midleton. The directions are the same except, the forest is on the right near the bottom of the hill at Saleen.
Sandymount: Dublin City. This Street O event starts at the Martello tower beside Sandymount strand.
Scartnamuck: Bandon, Co. Cork. W474 593.
Shippool: Bandon, Co. Cork. GR W5754.
Slieve Croob:Ballynahinch, Co. Down. An intricate hillside, with a small piece of forest at the bottom. Events will usually be signposted from the A50 between Banbridge and Newcastle, or from Dromara. Grid reference J 32 47.
Slieve Martin: Rostrevor, Co. Down. This is made up of steep forest with some intricate open and semi-open mountain at the back. It is accessed via the Kilbroney Forest Park in Rostrevor. Grid Reference J 19 17.
Slievereagh: Grid reference R715 225.
Slish Wood: Aka Killery Mountain. This is a technical and physical area - mostly open mountain with some forest. It is situated about 5 miles south of Sligo on the R287. To get there, take the N4 south from Sligo. Turn left onto the R287 along the south shore of Lough Gill. The forest is on the left, about half a mile after the road leaves the lake shore. Springwell: Between Limavady and Coleraine in Co. Derry. To get there, follow the A2 from either town and you will pass through the forest. It's about half way between them. Grid reference C 76 25.
Stradbally Wood: Stradbally, Co. Laois. A nice piece of mainly deciduous wood.
Streamhill: Buttevant, Co. Cork. Grid Reference R575 135..
Sugarloaf: Kilmacanogue, Co. Wicklow. This is an area of fairely complex, steep, open hillside. To get there, take the N11 south from Dublin. At Kilmacanogue, turn right. The start is either in Kilmacanogue or else around the back of the mountain. If the latter, follow the O-signs to the event.
