Our
annual parent/teacher meetings will take place on
the afternoons of Weds and Thurs the 2nd and 3rd of December from
2.50 pm until 5.30 pm. School will end at 2.30 pm on those days for pupils from Rang a

Ceartúchán/Correction
I nóta a dimigh amach i
mí Meitheamh gabhadh buíochas do thuismitheoir amháin as ucht síntiús airgid a tugadh
don scoil agus a chaitheadh ar ábhair tacaíochta foghlama. Ba cheart go ndéarfadh an
nóta sin gur ó ghrúpa fichille na scoile a tháinig an síntiús seo as ucht úsáid an
tseomra.
In a previous newsletter in June it
was mistakenly stated that a donation had been made to the school by an individual parent.
This should have read that we had received a donation from the chess group in the school
for the use of the room the group was provided with. This donation was much appreciated
and was used for the purchase of learning support material to assist children with special
educational needs.
Bille Scoile/ School Bill
Ár mbrón mar gheall ar
déanacht an bhille scoile agus mar gheall ar bhotún a bhain le ranganna 3 go dtí a 6.
Beidh soiléiriú ar fáil ón oifig ar aon míchinteacht a bhaineann leis an mbille.
Our apologies for the lateness of our
school bill due to a number of factors and for a mistaken calculation from Rang a 3 to 6.
Clarification of any questions regarding the bill are available from Eileen in the office.
Lá Inseirbhíse/Inservice Training Day
Beidh lá inseirbhíse ar
siúl ag na múinteoirí ar an Máirt an 8ú lá Nollaig. Ag rith le traidisiún agus
ethos Chaitliceach na scoile, beidh an scoil dunta ar an lá tábhactach eaglasta seo.
An in-service training day will take
place on Tuesday the 8th of December for staff. In line with the schools
tradition and our Catholic ethos, there will be no school for the children on this
important church holiday.
Seirbhís Téacs/ Textaparent Service
Thosaigh ár séirbhís nua
téacs an tseachtain seo. Bhí fadhb mhór againn ar dtús a bhain leis an bhog-earra ach
tá feabhas air anois. Má tá fadhb agat fós cuir nóta go dtí múinteoir do pháiste.
Beidh deireadh le iolrú teachtaireachtaí go luath chomh maith.
Our new Textaparent service began this week. We had major
problems with the first message due to software problems but we hope the majority of you
received the text at the second attempt. Please send a note to your childs teacher
indicating if you still did not receive this message. We also hope to
eliminate multiple messages to
families before the next text.
E-Litreacha/ E-mail Newsletter
Seo an chéad uair go bhfuil
an nuachtlitir á chur abhaile tríd an chóras e-phoist. Má tá seoladh e-phoist agat
anois nach raibh cheana, cuir nóta go dtí an múinteoir. Beidh an litir ar fáil ar
shuíomh idirlíon na scoile chomh maith.
This is our first
newsletter to be transmitted by email. If you now have an email and want to be added to
our email list again please send a note to your teacher and please remember to
inform us of any changes to your details at any time. The newsletter weill also be

Coiste na dTuismitheoirí/Parents Committee
Comhgáirdeachas dár
mbeirt oifigí nua ar Choiste na dTuismitheoirí, Cathaoirleach Andy Boyd agus Rúnaí Kim
Kinsella. Táimid an-bhuíoch dár gcathaoirleach deireanach Adrienne Turner a chuir
isteach an-obair dúinn agus atá sásta leanúint ar aghaidh ag cabhrú leis an gcoiste.
Táimid buíoch dona tuismitheoirí atá sásta suí ar roinnt choistí na scoile.
Míle buíochas don gcoiste as
ucht an t-airgead a bailíodh don scoil an bhlian seo chaite agus cheana féin tá 5,000
caite ar athnuachan a dhéanamh ar ríomhairí na scoile. Beidh sonraithe ar chaiteachas
eile sa chéad nuachlitir eile agus fáiltimid i gcónaí roimh moltaí ó éinne i dtaobh
airgead a bhailiú nó conas í a chaitheamh.
Congratulations to our new Parents
Committee officers, Chairperson Andy Boyd and Secretary Kim Kinsella who have agreed to
take on these important jobs for the year and Treasurer Mandi Walshe who will continue in
her position. We are also thankful to a number of parents who have agreed to join a number
of school committees.
We
are extremely grateful to the committee for their fundraising efforts and already this
year 5,000 has been spent in upgrading computers in our technology room and our
classrooms. A full outline of spending decisions and plans will be contained in the next
newsletter and we
welcome your suggestions at any time.
Comhbhrón/Sympathies
Deinimd comhbhrón do
Mhúinteoir Gobnait agus a fear chéile Pat as ucht chailliúint máthair Pat, Margaret
Murphy.
Bhíomar croí-bristeach
chun cloisint mar gheall ar bhás thobann Jim O Neill ó Dhún Feart gur fhreastal a
pháistí ar fad ar ár scoil agus a raibh mar chara iontach dúinn i gcónaí, go mór
mór i gcomthéacs bhás a mhac Shane anuraidh. Comhbhrón dá bhean chéile Eileen, a
iníon Lisa agus dá mhic Cathal agus Mícheál.
We extend our sympathies to
Múinteoir Gobnait and her husband Pat and family on the death of Pats mother
Margaret Murphy recently.
We were heart-broken to hear of the
tragic and sudden death of former parent Jim O Neill. All of the ONeill family
attended our school and Jim was a great friend of Gaelscoil Osraí. His passing is all the
more tragic in the context of the death of his son Shane last year and our heartfelt
sympathies to his wife Eileen, daughter Lisa and sons Cathal and Mícheál of whom he was
so proud.
Ar dheis Dé go rabhadar
beirt.
Dea-ghuí don Pres/Best wishes to the neighbours
Gach dea-ghuí agus comhgháirdeachas do

McCarron.
Best of
luck to our neighbouring school, the Presentation Convent , on their success to date in
the All-Ireland schools choir competition being broadcast on RTÉ1. Already the choir,
which includes a number of our past pupils have won the Munster and Leinster section of
the competition and will compete in the All Ireland final in Belfast on Sunday evening to
be broadcast at 6.30 pm. Well done particularly to choir leader and teacher Veronica
McCarron.
