Video: A Stay at Chateau de Lavigny, Switzerland

The Château de Lavigny in the Swiss Canton of Vaud is a unique residence for writers, located in the centre of the vineyards along the north shore of Lake Geneva.

The former home of one of the most influential European publishers of his time, Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt– who introduced writers such as Vladimir Nabokov, Henry Miller, Ernest Hemingway and Albert Camus to German-speaking readers – it is administered by a foundation in Ledig-Rowohlt's name and operates for four months of the summer as a near perfect residence for 5 international writers at a time.
