THE DOWNS GAA NOTES

Senior B Championship:

The Downs 2-5 Coralstown/Kinnegad 1-15

Our second team bowed out to a fitter Kinnegad side in the 2000 Senior B Championship quarter final held in Milltownpass on Saturday last.

Kinnegad started the stronger and gradually built up their lead as the half progressed. With the break approaching The Downs came more into the game but trailed 1-2 to 1-8 at the break.

On the resumption of play, we got a few early scores and midway through the half had cut the lead to three points but a fitter Kinnegad side finished the stronger with three late points.

Lucky Numbers draw:

There was no winner of the IR£2,500 jackpot in the Lucky Numbers for the week-ended 12^th February. Numbers drawn were 1, 11, 15 & 19.

£50 prize-winners were Mary Murtagh, The Downs and Carmel Gilhooley.

Scor Question-Time:

Our scor question time team qualified for the county final on Sunday in a keenly contested semi final held in Springfield on Tuesday Last.

Scor Semi Final:

The Club hosted the county semi-final of scor sinsear on Saturday last.

County Scor Final:

We wish all our competitors the very best of luck in the County Final which will be held in the Clubhouse on Sunday night, February, 24^th at 6.00. As this is the first time the club has had the honour of hosting the county final we would hope to see all the local support on the night to cheer on our competitors and help in the smooth running of the night.

There will be an Underage Disco in the Clubhouse on Friday night next. The Disco will commence at 9.30 and will run until 12 mid-night.
