THE DOWNS GAA NOTES

Foot and Mouth:

With the playing restrictions due to the Footh and Mouth epidemic no longer in place, we expect to return to playing action over the coming weekend.

Lucky Numbers draw:

There was no winner of the IR£2,800 jackpot in our lucky numbers draw of Monday March 12^th . Numbers drawn were 3, 8, 10, 15. £50 prizewinners were Mary Leahy and C.Creagh.

Traditional Music Session:

To kick off the St.Patrick’s Weekend there was a Music Session in the Clubhouse on Friday night last with the entertainment being provided by Bunbrosna Comhaltas and St.Marys Scor group. We would like to thank both groups for their part in a very enjoyable night.

Leinster Scor Semi-Final:

The rearranged Leinster semi-final of Scor will take place on Sunday next at 6.00 in Portarlington, Co.Laois. Representing the Club and Westmeath will be our Set Dancers, who will be hoping to get back into their first Leinster Scor Final since 1997.

We hope to see all our usual supporters there on the night.

Set Dancing Classes:

Set dancing classes will be resuming in the centre on Monday night next, March 26^th . Classes for children start at 7.30 and for adults at 9.00.
