Mad Lab!

On Thursday 20th November a group of scientists called Mad Lab showed Mr. Birmingham's class and Mr. Flattery's class how to make a flashing face. We started by getting a circuit and connectors. One pair of connectors was yellow, purple and brown, the second one was yellow, red, purple and gold stripes. We stuck these into the circuit board which was quite difficult as they were small and delicate. We did the same thing with coloured bulbs and a semi-circle shaped
object that had three wires. We put all these on a circuit board. When we were finished that we went to the hall. We had to put safety goggles on and we looked funny. We had to use a soldering iron, which was 300 degrees! (3 x boiling
water.) We used solder wire to stick the wires. When we finished that we cut them short with pliers. We connected a battery lead. We soldered all of the wires. After that we stuck a battery to it. This made the eyes flash. Finally we put a cardboard face on. They looked great. We really enjoyed it!
