Common Hepatica

The Common Hepatica flowers in spring. As soon as the soil warms up a little, the pale purple-blue flowers start to appear from the rootstock hidden beneath the leaves, and soon attract early insects. The Common Hepatica does not grow everywhere in Europe because it likes lime soil. It blooms for about a week, closing and bending over at night and during rain. The Common Hepatica grows very slowly.
