This year some 4th class boys are involved in a lunchtime science club. The club has already built some unusual engines using rubber bands. Other activities include planning and creating a wildlife garden, science experiments and recording. The school is in the process of applying for a Discover Primary Science award of excellence and the science club is organising and keeping a Discovery log.

The green wave project monitors when spring moves through your area. The science club has been keeping an eye on things in our locality during the month of March. They observed and recorded when the sticky buds of the Horse Chestnut tree burst out. Then they looked at the Hawthorn, which quickly followed the Horse Chestnut. The Horse Chestnut’s buds burst out on March 31st.Bud burst occurred on the hawthorn on April 3rd.
