The Rathmullan Art Group Exhibition of paintings opened on Friday evening last 8th July. The painting classes were part funded this year by Donegal VEC Adult Education Services. Canon Brian Smeaton opened the exhibition at which a large crowd attended and enjoyed the evening. The exhibition is held at the Flight of the Earls Heritage centre and runs until the end of August.

The Annual cemetery Mass at Rathmullan Cemetery will take place on Sunday 24th July at 3pm.

St. Garvan’s National School , Drumhalla celebrate their 75th Anniversary of the school from Friday 29th July until Sunday 31st July. The official opening will be performed on the Friday evening at 7pm by Fr. Neill Loughrey, White Fathers, a past pupil of the school followed by a social evening with music by Edward  Joseph, and local entertainment. Mass will be celebrated at the Marquee on Saturday evening by Fr. Neill at 6pm at which everyone is welcome. A full programme of events is planned over the weekend including an exhibition of photographs and memobralia at the school and a Dance in The Milford Inn Hotel on Sunday night with music by AB Sound. A 5k Road Race will also take place on Saturday at 1pm.  A car Treasure hunt will take place on the Saturday at 7pm leaving from the school.This promises to be a weekend to remember for past pupils , their families and friends and one of the social highlights of the area during 2005.

The Annual St. Garvan’s N.S. Sports Day will be held on Sunday 31st July at White Strand Football pitch at 1pm everyone welcome.

The 7th Rathmullan Community Festival takes place from Friday 29th July until Sunday 31st July.

Pre-Festival events will be starting shortly. On Friday 22nd July the 5k Road Race and Walk will take place. The charity to benefit this year will be Multiple Sclerosis(Donegal Branch), and the race/Walk starts at 7.30pm. The first of the singing pubs will alslo be held on Friday 22nd in Huidie’s bar, Pier Road at which the “Huidie’s Rose” will be chosen. The Frank McAteer Memorial Football match will be played on Sunday 24th July at 4.30 pm .All proceeds in aid of The Irish Heart Foundation, and at 7.30 in the evening there will be music at Carberry’s Corner. On Monday 25th July the singing pub will take place at Big Paddy’s and the Big Paddy’s Rose will be chosen and the singing pub takes place at the Beacecomber on Wednesday 27th July when the Beachcomber Rose will be chose.

On Friday 29th July Little Miss Rathmullan and Prince Charming will take place at 2pm .Winners will take part in the Festival Parade which takes place at 7.30 pm. If your haven’t got your float organised folks , the clock is ticking.

There will be music on the gig rig by the Henry Girls from 7.30 until 9.30.

Saturday’s programme has an early start with junior soccer at 11.am , Bonny Baby at 11.30 am, Inflatable Fun at the soccer pitch from 2-5pm. The Denis Sheridan Memorial Cup at 1pm. Magic Show at 2pm. Kelda Kelly Hip-Hop and Modern Dance from 5-6. The Bellies at the gig Rig from 8-10 and from 10-12midnight the Barefoor Disiples.

The Putting Competition will take place on Sunday 31st July at 12noon and the Children’s Treasure Trail/ Quiz (confined to pier area ) will also be held at 12noon.. The Sandcastle  and Sand Sculpture competition will tale place from 1.30 –2.30pm. Mary B will provide music on the gig rig at 4pm, and at 6pm the Festival Queens competition and escorts will be held. The presentation of prizes will be held at 7pm. There will be music on the Gig Rig with the Notty Pine String Quartet from 8-10pm. And from 10-midnight Rathmullan will rock to a close with Keltic Kaos.  This has now become the hallmark on the festival Sunday. This is a festival not to be missed and Rathmullan invites, locals day trippers and visitors alike to join in all the family fun.
