Down-on-her-luck actress Ann Darrow accepts an offer to star in a film shot on
the mysterious Skull Island. When the crew arrive, Ann is abducted by natives
who offer her as a sacrifice to a giant ape. But instead of devouring her, the
ape becomes smitten with her. His tenderness towards her allows the film crew to
capture him, and ambitious director Carl Denham senses a business opportunity.
