Lantana 2001
Ray Lawrence's assured, fascinating film appears, on
the surface, to be a murder mystery; a corpse is found and Detective Leon Zat is on the case. But he faces personal problems with his
wife Sonja who is seeing psychiatrist Dr. Valerie Somers, who in turn is having
her own problems with her husband. Comparable to Magnolia and Short Cuts, this
is a multi-layered film about relationships and power as much as the murder.
