Despite additions to the line-up, gigs and changes to the live set format with the work that ensues, Philip has been pushing ahead with new material, some of the fruits of which were debuted live in June. Two songs of the new cycle have made their appearance in the set, throwing down the gauntlet for a new direction to come: "Looks Like MTV", a heavy, powerful industrial track with a spatial feel, and "Inhumane", a laid-back ballad with a strong melodic dance influence. These being only the precursor to what's to come, the new material should be hitting audiences by late Autumn.
Diary Dealings
A return gig is on the cards for Cork City in September as Philip hits the Half Moon Club to give the Leesiders another helping of what he does best. Special thanks to Martin "Buttons" Bohane for the excellent job he did on sound for the last gig there, and to the Clare contingent for turning up and leading the charge!
A September date for The Venue, Strandhill, Sligo has had to be moved back to October due to unforseen circumstances. Apologies to any and all for the change, but fear not; there'll be craic yet. See the Gig Guide for details.
Finally a big thank you to all who turned out and helped to make those gigs in Cuba Live and in Clare such a blast; great nights with great atmosphere. Thanks especially to Ollie Longhair and Fergal for keeping it all under wraps, and making it all sound as good as it does....
Going to Earth
No gigs are on the cards for the month of August (see the Gig Guide below for September) as the Philip Fogarty camp drops the local reins and takes a well-deserved break. Philip would like to take this oppurtunity to thank all those who've helped to make 1999 such a great year so far; the band, the sound engineers, the venues, the local media - all too numerous to mention here, but most of all a special thanks to the punters, for their loyalty and support, moral and otherwise.
