THE
PHOTO RESTORATION PROCESS
These
are: digital scanning, computer assisted restoration, and printing.
Your
original photo is not harmed or changed in any way. All of the restoration
work is applied to a digital copy.
1.
SCANNING AND EVALUATING
Once
we receive your original photo, we evaluate the damage and then
plan for the restoration process.
Next,
your photo is scanned with a professional flat bed scanner, producing
a computer file into our computer.
We
then adjust the exposure, contrast, and brightness levels to obtain
the best image. Now we are ready to begin the actual restoration
process.
2.
RESTORATION
We
start by removing the blemishes, spots and stains. Next, we skillfully
remove the cracks, rips and tears, blending to match the surrounding
parts of the photo.
If
parts of the picture are totally missing, the artist will use the
surrounding picture area to create the missing parts.
Once
we are satisfied that the restoration work is complete, we make
a print to further check our work.
3.
PRINTING
From
this new image, photographic quality prints and enlargements of
your restored photo are made, in any size and quantity you desire.
We
can also provide a digital file of the restoration on a CD ROM.
4.YOUR
FINISHED, RESTORED PHOTOS
Your
original photo, and the restored photographic prints are carefully
packaged and returned to you.
The
entire process takes one to two weeks, so allow enough time if you
have a special occasion or holiday that you'd like to use the photo
for.
Remember,
we also re-touch portraits or other photos. We can change backgrounds,
remove a person or add a person.
