Ali Roberts and Sandy Robinson

Ali Roberts and Sandy Robinson are musicians based in County Clare on the west coast of Ireland .

They play together as a duo and also perform with several bands playing a variety of musical styles, mainly from the Irish and Scottish tradition. Their repertoire also covers many Appalachian, Bluegrass , Country Blues and Klezmer tunes and songs.

Ali plays fiddle and whistle and learned many of her tunes in the pubs and trad sessions in Edinburgh in the 1980's.She has lived in the west of Ireland for many years and has played extensively “In Concert.” and in sessions, “Mummers plays.” and as a street musician. She also plays many American fiddle styles and is the violinist in the” Fireflies” one of Ireland's few bands playing “Klezmer” or Jewish wedding music.

Sandy Robinson plays guitar, banjo, low whistle and sings?. He was raised in a musical house in County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland.His late father was a champion Nothumbrian piper and blues guitarist.He has played in countless bands “Trad, Blues, Country, Reggae and a Circus band”.And has toured Scandinavia with members of the “Stewart family of Blairgowrie". And played with members of the McPeake family from Belfast and many musicians from Fermanagh and Tyrone.He was the ”Champion Uillean Piper of Fermanagh” in 1993 and dabbles with the “Northumbrian pipes” and “Steel resonator guitars”.

Ali and Sandy have played widely in Ireland , Great Britain , Scandinavia , France and Spain .
