Hi, thanks for visiting the site, I hope you've had an enjoyable time so far.

We are just a small operation here at Pitpass F1™ running from the centre of Dublin city, Ireland.
The site went online just before the New Year, after a three month development scramble. Although it's almost another three months later and we're only just begining to settle down. The aim of this site is to provide an aesthetically pleasing yet definitive source of Formula 1 information. We are also trying to satisfy the growing number of Irish followers of the sport, putting emphasis on the Jordan team and Eddie Irvine.

The idea for this site came 2 years ago when my colleagues and I began to notice the poor standard of Formula 1 sites on the web, and so Pitpass F1™ began. But what we didn't realise was how big and complex a job it was. And overall I suppose that time was spent more as part of a learning process, where we gathered the knowledge of what exactly we needed to do to fulfil our goals.

It was only at the start of last season that we finally managed to get something onto the net. But really the standard of the site on a whole was very poor. There were all sorts of problems throughout the site and also in the general running of it. So eventually with the season only a few races old and with a feeling of great under-achivement we decided to scrap the whole project and forgot we had ever began the whole thing in the first place.

It was only until later that summer sometime that I gave it any thought at all. And it was then that I had the brain wave that would turn the whole thing around. I contacted the rest of the guys and explained my whole new concept for the site, the concept that could implement our initial ideas.

Taking the shell of the site that had gone before we began to start from scratch to build what you see before you now. This was a more enjoyable process, knowing that the work we were doing really was working and also the fact that we actually knew what we were doing. We also got detailed advice from some of our friends at Frontend.com, Malachey Spollen, in particular, about the general running of the site so that we would at least have some overview of what was going on and we could be sure we wouldn't end up scrapping the site again.

We still have great plans for Pitpass F1™ with many new sections planned on the way very soon so we hope you'll find it very hard to get bored with Ireland's biggest Formula 1 news and information site!

Bye for now,
Naoise Ó Conchúir
