Q: What is it like to have A.D.D. / H.D.?

Imagine living in a fast moving kaleidoscope, where sounds, images, and thoughts are constantly shifting. feeling easily bored, yet helpless to keep your mind on the tasks you need to complete. distracted by unimportant sights and sounds, your mind drives you from one thought or activity to another. Perhaps you are so wrapped up in a collage of thoughts and images you don't even notice when someone speaks to you.

For many people this is part of what it is like to have ADHD, they may be unable to sit still, plan ahead, finish tasks in one go, if at all, or be fully aware at the time of what exactly is going on around them. Unexpectedly, some days they seem fine as if nothing is wrong at all. Leading others to believe that they have control of their actions. As a result this can have an adverse affect on their relationship with others, as well as disrupting their daily life, consuming energy, and diminishing their self esteem, as others fade away.
"he's only a crank--you couldn't time him, one minute he's O.K. the next you couldn't look sideways at him". Does this sound familiar, BUT not everyone that falls into this category has ADHD, Give them a fair hearing.

While this may give the reader some idea of what it is like, all the other syndromes and conditions may be present in some sufferers of A.D.D. / H.D. give a far more complicated task in trying to diagnose and treat the condition. Which are biological? -- Which are phsycoligical? brought on by other people's reaction to their behaviour. The list is endless.
