This inn dates from 1720 when it supplied butter, cream, milk, porter, stout and whiskey to the locals. It still retains its old world atmosphere throughout the building, saved from the scourge of restyling 'Irish pubs'.
All the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the orthopaedic beds are dressed in Irish linen on Cast Iron & brass beds.
The inn is listed in Karen Brown, McKennas' Bridgestone, Hibernia, Time Out and has been featured in many national and international newspapers and magazines.

Owned and run by the Foyle family for over
30 years. The Strand Inn is ideally situated in a sheltered cove, with an excellent sandy
beach and safe swimming within 10 yards. Our seafood restaurant has a very fine
reputation. We take great pride and care with our food. Fish on the menu are landed daily
in the harbour opposite. We combine these with crunchy fresh vegetables and herbs, which
are grown locally for us, and with great steaks and fine wine you wont be
disappointed.
With probably the best location in this picturesque village, all our bedrooms are en-suite
with T.V.s and most have balconies overlooking the beach and bay. We also have a
lovely friendly pub which serves great pints, the perfect place to relax and watch the
boats coming and going.
With six golf courses on our doorstep we are the ideal base for the avid golfer. We would
be delighted to quote special rates for groups or halfboard

One of the very few remaining segments of
of the City Wall, originally built by Sitric the Dane in 850AD, runs opposite the main bar
counter inside The Reginalds Lounge - over 100 feet of stone, 12 feet thick.
The segment of the wall inside The Reginald incorporates the only two remaining
"sallyports" in the entire city. These were small gates leading to the river
which was, at that time, just outside the walls and they were used by the vikings to
launch their boats of "sallyforth" in order to attack the enemy.
Lunch is from £4.95.
