Another great victory from the lads as they faced a strong Na Fianna side. Portobello played a stormer in the first half with most of the possession and held a lead of 6 points at the break. The second half however saw Na Fianna get back into the game and really pilling on the pressure. However, the Porto boys held out to win. Final score: Portobello 1-7 Na Fianna 0-7
PORTOBELLO Vs O'DWYERS:
Congratulations to the lads who started their championship campaign with a
win last wednesday 18th May. Portobello were in front for most of the game and
some fine goals really set them on their way. They held off some pressure in the
2nd half but ran out convincing winners in the end
STACEY CUP RESULTS: 15-05-05: PORTOBELLO 0-9 / BANK OF IRELAND 1-9 Close encounter but the Portobello boys will feel this was a
game they really should have won with most of the possession not been converted
into scores.
17-04-05: PORTOBELLO / THOMAS DAVIES - GAME ABANDONED The Club wishes a full and speedy recovery to David Ward of
Thomas Davis who picked up a serious injury during this Cup match between
Portobello and Davis'. The injury followed an accidental collision between David
and a Portobello player. We look forward to welcoming David and his team-mates
back to Leinster Road later in the year.

were 0-10 to 0-4 behind at half time and well in it for most of the second half
but two late Lucan goals, the second just before the final whistle, ended the
game as a contest. |
