"In other words, the parish is one of the few places where the most important questions in life, the very questions privatised in our contemporary culture, can be asked and acknowledged publicly. Who am I? What does it mean to be a human person? What can we hope for? It is one of the few places that acknowledges and addresses people in the fullness of their personhood, one of the few places that respond to the spiritual hunger in the human person. The parish recognises the person as spirit. It offers people, in and through the gospel, a way of exploring their spiritual journey and satisfying their spiritual hunger"
