Music
Children in our school enjoy music. I did a survey on music in the Senior School. There were 89 children in the survey.
82 children play a musical instrument.
30 children play the tinwhistle.
50 children play the recorder.
15 children play the piano.
15 children play the key board.
3 children play the tambourine.
3 children play the guitar.
3 children play the electric guitar.
4 children play the violin.
1 child plays the flute.
There is a school band in 6th class. All the children play an instrument. Mrs. O’Hanlon teaches the school band. Miss English teaches the tinwhistle.
Sr. Magdalen has been teaching music in the school for twelve years. She teaches Irish songs, folk songs from other lands and rounds to the middle classes. She teaches Nursery Songs to the Infant Classes. Sr. Magdalen is in charge of the Church Choir. The choir sing in church once a fortnight.
