Farm Biosecurity From the TAHIP (Teagasc Animal Health Information Portal) Webpages Biosecurity is the routine protocol that farm managers must adopt to prevent or reduce the introduction & transmission of disease in livestock & precautions needed to reduce the risk of Bioterrorism. No Biosecurity system is perfect. Zero risk of disease on farms is unachieveable and breakdowns are inevitable, particularly in areas of high livestock density. However, adherence to sound Biosecurity principles reduces risks to a minimum.
