Young children, pregnant women, elderly people and people whose immune systems are suppressed (such as those with HIV-AIDS, or those on anti-tissue-rejection medication or cytotoxic chemotherapy) should avoid contact with, or take careful hygienic precautions after contact with, animals that have aborted, given birth, or show clinical signs of an infectious or parasitic disease
