The Gap of DunloeWhy not enjoy the traditional way of life by travelling in a Jaunting Car from Kate Kearney´s Cottage (see photo on the right) through the Gap of Dunloe. Along the way you will be amazed with the magnificant views, while relaxing on a pony and trap. You may also prefer to walk  to the Gap of Dunloe from Kate Kearney´s cottage which should take no longer than a couple of hours. The photo on the left shows the windy road which takes youThe Gap of Dunloe from Kate Kearney's cottage and on through the Gap of Duloe. Along the way you will be amazed with some magnificant views and sights. Many tourists enjoy the 7 mile (10KM) walk to the Upper Lake at Gearmaheen, which takes you from Kate Kearney's cottage right through the Gap of Dunloe and on to Killarney's upper lakes. Ensure to bring a camera along with you as there are many vantage spots along the way which will offer you an opportunity to take some excellent photos. From the Upper Lake you can also take advantage of hopping on the tourist boat which will bring you to straight to Killarney Town.


Killarney Golf Club (Championship Course)There are many golf clubs in the local area including the Castlerosse Golf Club, as well as the Killarney Golf Club  (see photo), the Beaufort Golf Club and the Dunloe Golf Club. All of the golf courses enjoy spectacular views and scenery. Most, if not all of the golf courses in Kerry are open to green fees throughout the tourist season. On most courses Guests are open to both 9 and 18 hole Green Fees.

Muckross House
Another popular tourist attraction includes Muckross House and Gardens (see photos). This is a 19th Century Manor surrounded by beautiful gardens. Muckross House is now a museum of Kery folk life and has an excellent crafts centre in its basement. Muckross House is also adjacent to the KillarMuckross Gardensney Lakes and  enjoys many spectacular views and scenery. If interested, there are many opportunities for taking a pony and trap around the many many acres of beautifully landscaped grounds of Muckross Gardens. The pony and trap will also bring you around Killarney's National Park which is ajacent to Muckross Gardens, or to Killarney Town via the National Park.
