Hi the names Claire and I’m going to tell you a story about how and why I got interested in the Racing Industry.

It all started at a very young age, I was only three when I saw the film ‘National Velvet’ staring Elizabeth Taylor, it was based on a young school girl that was totally in love with horses and who dreamed of being famous and she did, as she wins a horse that she had loved in a raffle in the town.  She decides to enter the horse called ‘The Pie’ into the greatest horse race ‘The Grand National’ the twist of it is that she cuts her long black hair so short the night before the race in the horse box to make herself look just like a boy so she can ride in the race herself over 32 hardest fences at the age of only sixteen or fifteen.  At the end she wins the race and becomes very famous for being a girl to ride in the Greatest Horse Race.  Ever since the day I watched that film my dream and ambition was to become a famous lady jockey and to race in the Grand National and I am still going to, fingers crossed.
