Land of Opportunity

The racing industry is a good line of work to get into if you love dealing with horses and are willing to put the effort in. Hopefully for me things will go my way.
I started off riding ponies up and down the streets of Finglas - bareback, until one day it came to an end when I heard about a trainee jockey school down in Co. Kildare. I love horses and I thought about being jockey so I came down on a one week trial to try and make it onto the main 42 week course, which I did.
It was a bit of a pain starting off, for instance I didn’t know how to tack up and, most of all, I couldn’t ride in a saddle. As the weeks went on I finally got into the swing of things and everything was coming to me quite rapidly thanks to the instructors in RACE.
On the third month I was capable enough to be sent out to Kevin Prendergast as a trainee apprentice and hopefully I will get a lucky break and become a very successful jockey in the future
