Roscrea is a very active community with a variety of interest groups and representative organisations as well as a plethora of clubs. These include the Chamber of Commerce, the Roscrea Community Development Council, the ICA, the Tidy Towns Committee, the Heritage Society, the Youth Club, the Scouts, the St.Patrick's Day Parade,the Craft Group, Women's Groups, Roscrea Tourism, Comhalthas Ceoltirí Eireann, Lions Club, a number of residents associations and a host of other clubs and associations. New people are actively encouraged to join in community activities and the spirit of participative democracy runs through all community groups and organisations and has led to some wonderful achievements and improvements in the town.

Roscrea Golf Club has an excellent 18-hole course. Membership is available at very attractive rates and Green Fees are great calue. A championship Pitch & Putt course is located on the Birr road only two miles from the town. There are also 3 superb 18-hole courses within a 20 mile radius, Thurles, Nenagh and Birr. |
