A.G.M In Brief

The 7th Annual General Meeting of the Finn Harps Co-operative Society took place in the Finn Valley Centre, Stranorlar on 7th March and the clubs shareholders heard that for the third year running, the club had made a trading profit.

The shareholders that were told that this years trading profit was €24,510 and with gate receipts totalling over €185,000, Harps had record income figures of €417,702, beating the cup final year of 1999. This figure was also boosted by the €35,000 raised by the shirt sponsorship draw.

Expenditure for the year amounted to €391,708 with players wages being responsible for the largest outgoings. The good news on the overall debt front is that it is down from €540,000 three years ago to just over €250,000 now.

Shareholders were also informed that the club had gained a 'B' type license for the First Division for the coming season. The only criteria preventing the club from receiving an 'A' license was not surprisingly spectator facilities.

There were also four new board members added to the board of directors, bringing it to the maximum number of 15. The new members are Trevor Gordon (Letterkenny), Anne Kelly (Ballybofey), Denise O'Neill and James Rodgers (both Stranorlar. They join the other eleven outgoing directors who were once again re-elected.
