We have formed the Belfast
Redbacks to promote the game of Australian Rules in Northern Ireland. The
aims of the Club is to bring Australian Rules to the Irish, not give expatriate
Australians a chance to socialise. We originally thought of a number of
names for the side but Redbacks seemed the most appropriate. We certainly
could not use the Bombers or Lions for obvious reasons.

All shapes and sizes required. Footy experience not necessary. Drinking
and social skills preferable but not mandatory.

12th March 2000
A pre match training session
was held with the Dublin Demons to get the two Irish teams together and
ready for the game against the London Lyons.
