SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY-EXHIBITION

A strong player takes on 20, 30 or more players at once, playing on each board in turn.   If all the games are played without looking at the boards, it is called a ‘Blindfold Simultaneous Display’.   A display in which a strong chess player takes on a number of weaker players at the same time.   The world record for the greatest number of participants in a simultaneous exhibition is 301 players.   And the record for the most games played simultaneously by a GM (who was playing all the games blindfold) is 62 games.   Simul’.   In 1978 Karl Podzielny played 575 games simultaneously in 30.5 hours.
