What is FIT

FIT is an industry led initiative, backed by government, in response to the skills shortagein the IT sector. This programme has been designed in partnership with industry, FIT Ltd., the Dublin VEC's, FAS and the Local Employment Services.

What does this course involve?

This course prepares persons for a job as Quality Assurance Tester. A tester tests software which runs on computers. A tester can also be involved in the 'localisation' process - the adaptation of software to suit the requirements of different languages and countries.

What skills does a Quality Assurance Tester require?

Testers require a very food knowledge of PC hardware, DOS, Windows9x and Windows applications. They should also have a logical approach to troubleshooting and have a strong personal committment to quality, deadlines and customer service.

What are the job opportunities for a Quality Assurance Tester?

Ireland has become a world leader in software development and production and the prospects for employment for a person with experience are excellent.

COURSE DETAILS The course is a full-time programme and will run for 35 weeks including internship. The areas covered are as follows:

ENROLMENTS Interviews will be held from March to May by appointment and in early September.
