TRIBES FINAL
The finals of this event were held on Fri March
3rd. In the plate event Alan McKnights
Amazon were victorious over Clare Connollys
Snakes.
In the main Event Colm McDonnagh lead the
Commanche to victory over Frank Walley and the
Pawnee.
The portacabin was packed to capacity and a great
night was had by all. Thanks you to all the
captains and teams who took part. A big welcome
to the many new members who took part this year
and hope you enjoyed it. A huge thank you to
Frank Kelleher & Co for their continued
sponsorship of this very popular club event. |
WINTER LEAGUE NEWS
We entered 11 teams this year across the grades.
5 of these teams went through to the knockout
stages.
2 of these were unfortunately beaten in the
quarters finals.
We now have 2 teams who have reached the semi
finals.
The grade 2 team Martin Cusack (Capt) Niall
Chandler, Sharon Leahy, Elga Ryan and Gillian
OKeeffe, will take on Sundays Well next Sun
25th in the Well.
The grade 6 team Roz Crotty (Capt), Larragh
OBrien, Nigel Smith and Karl Ryan will take
on Kinsale in Rushbrooke next Wed 28th at 7.30pm.
The best of luck to both teams!!!!!!!
A huge thank you to coach Liam OBrien who
gave up his free time to coach all the winter
league teams over the past 2 months. THANK YOU

Sundays Well on Sunday 1st April. |
NEW CLUB GEAR
Top quality tennis jackets, polo shirts and
baseball hats are now available to purchase. Many
sizes still available and are on displayed in the
bar. Enquiries can be made in the bar or by
contacting Eamonn Crotty. Club gear also
available for juniors.

NEXT EVENT - SOUTH OF IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
This will take place over Easter weekend from Fri
6th April to Mon 9th. Mens, ladies and
mixed doubles will be played in all grades.
Singles will be premier grade only.
Catering and bar facilities will be available
throughout the weekend.

We hope to hold a number of club nights during
the coming season.

AGHADA OPEN TOURNAMENT
The tournament season has begun and the finals of
the Aghada open were held Mon 19th March.
Congratulations to the Rushbrooke players who
made it to the finals.
Colm McDonnagh and Denis Gilley were runners up
in the mens grade 5 doubles
Harriet & Yan Verwey were runners up in the
mixed doubles grade 3
Liam OBrien and his partner Victor Drummy
were narrowly defeated in a 3rd set tie break in
the mens premier doubles.

LADIES GROUP COACHING AND TRAINING
This will be taking
place in the club on Thursday mornings with coach
Mike Lehane beginning shortly
