Rollers/Sparkers Dismembered

This Sunday night individual members of odd-rock outfit Rollers/Sparkers will perform as part of a side project called Children of the Quorn. The gig will take place at the celebrated Lazybird club in Dublin.

Departing from the well-formed paths of pre-composed pieces Children of the Quorn will perform in a semi-improvised style in what they describe as "an attempt to air our groovances against the world". Live percussion and guitar, pre-recorded sample loops, and the sound of human suffering are all expected to contribute to an evening of abnormal gas.

About Lazybird

One of Dublin's best kept secrets, Lazybird happens upstairs at The International Bar every Sunday evening.

Now that we've blown their cover you might as well know the rest. For those who tire of Dublin's puke-encrusted, e-eyed night-life, Lazybird is an ear-freshening alternative for the discerning listener. Each week guest vinyl-twisters, improvisational instrumentalists and a core of regular Lazybird spinsmiths offer a dazzling selection of left-of-centre tunes to leave you blissed out and brain-adled before the long sleep of the Sun-night. At Lazybird you can expect everything from longhair freak-outs to objectionable burbling noises, from The Something-Something-Somethings to the I-Don't-Know-Whos, from blip-hop to drip-hop, and from free jazz to bondage rock, whatever the hell that is.

Admission is a measly 2 sheets. Doors open between 8 and 8.30, depending on the mood of the organisers. It's a small venue so get there early if you want to stake a claim on your very own bottom holder.
