A Prime Slice of Rollers/Sparkers

WARNING TO VEGETARIANS: On Monday September 10th at Whelan's of Wexford Street, Dublin, Rollers/Sparkers will open for The Dudley Corporation and The Connect 4 Orchestra with a compact yet meaty selection of songs designed to thrill and worry the animal kingdom.

Only the choicest cuts, hand-picked and vaccuum-packed with love, have been selected from Rollers/Sparkers' seemingly endless back catalogue. The intention is to deliver a set that, although somewhat shortened, will nonetheless satisfy even the most carnivorous of appetites.

Expect to bathe in the venison moonlight of classic oldies such as "Song for Sick Children". Expect your silver hair to be swept comprehensively back by the avuncular yet implausibly beefy "Uncle on Wheels". And luxuriate in the shimmering medallions of veal that overlap to form "Multiplication of the Arcs", a new tune named after a very odd painting by Yves Tanguy (which is reproduced here). There may even be time for a few sausages at the end.

Rollers/Sparkers will take to the stage not long after 9pm, whereupon meat distribution will commence without delay. Omnivores are welcome. Vegetarians are advised to bring their own quorn or textured vegetable protein as standing on the sidelines furtively chewing tomatoes will not be accepted.

Admission: £5.
