Free Tutor Database


Grinds - Ireland is a completely free webservice to students and tutors. Its aim is to database every tutor in Ireland, making a simple reference tool for students or their parents seeking private tuition in their local area.



30th March 2005: Service has well over 200 tutors registered and between them service 100s of subjects from primary level to third. Here are links to the details of the last 5 tutors registered as of the 30th of March 2005.

22nd March 2005: New Add-on service www.grinds-ireland.com allows you to see the number of secondary tutors and subjects and the average cost of grinds in your county. The complete database is still accessible only through www.irish-grinds.com. The new service lists the primary school tutors in your county. These tutors were not previous serviced in the old database. Hope to add special needs tutors soon.

Over 200 tutors registered for 2nd level education in Ireland, seperated into the Junior and Leaving Cycles. Plans to add GCSE and O/A-level pages in the comming weeks. Also services all 3rd level college/university courses.

Guide price available for over 90% of the tutors registered, mostly for one-to-one tuition, much cheaper group rates also available, but sparadicly mentioned you will need to contact individual tutors for their specific details. According to this database the average price of private tuition in Ireland is 23.40 euro an hour. There is no variance in price between the individual cities Dublin, Cork or Galway and between more rural counties.

Tutors registered for 20 of the 26 counties in the Republic of Ireland. No tutors currently registered from Cavan, Carlow, Roscommon, Leitrim, Monaghan. Counties in Northern Ireland are poorly serviced.

Although there is no specifically sections for primary level or special needs students, it is also possible to find help for these students by searching the tutors personal pages. Many of them mention willingness to help pupils in difficulty.
