Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa Íosa was established in the parish of Huntstown in 1983 with two teachers on staff.  Since then the area has experienced dramatic changes as the local community has steadily increased.  The school has responded admirably to these changes and there are now over 50 members of staff and a student body of almost 940.  In 2006 the opening of a new school building heralded the beginning of a new chapter in the school’s history and has expanded the opportunities for the whole school community.  A modern ICT room, expansive gym amenities and a rejuvenated library are among the new facilities now available in the school.  Amidst this rapid pace of change the ethos of the school has remained constant.  We aim to provide a nurturing environment in which all children will grow and develop so that they can extend the spirit of respect and tolerance that characterises our community.
