General Information on School Policies

The School Uniform

A school uniform has been decided upon. It is to be worn every day, in full, except on P.E. days when the school tracksuit should be worn. A note from home should inform teachers as to why the uniform is not being worn. Flat black shoes are to be worn with uniform. For Health and Safety and to avoid competition between children, the school has revised its policy:

Girls may wear stud earrings on lower lobes.

All children may wear a watch.

No other jewellery may be worn.

Morning Line Up

Children should arrive at school to enter the building at their designated classroom for 8.50am. They must not run or visit other yards before school.

Once in the school grounds, they may not leave until 2.30pm. No child is allowed to leave the class before 2.30pm.

Absences and late arrival

All absences are recorded by the class teacher.  If a child is absent, they must bring in a signed note upon their return, confirming their absence.

Punctuality is essential and is closely monitored by class teachers.  Children who are consistently late cause enormous disruption both to the class teacher and the other children.

Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited by children on school premises or school related outings. The phones will be confiscated and parents may retrieve them from the Principal’s office.

Healthy Lunches

A healthy lunch is expected for all children.

Crisps, fizzy drinks, chewing gum, large bars (chocolate or otherwise) are not permitted.

Children are expected to bring uneaten lunch home again to alert parents of their eating habits. There are to be no lollipops as treats.

Parents please note that it is school policy that ‘Birthday treats’ should not be brought to school.

All classrooms operate a 'Lunchbox zone', whereby children bring in food in a reusable lunchbox and bring leftovers home. Yoghurts may be eaten but please ensure that your child is able to store, open and consume yoghurt carefully and properly.
