Leaving to begin the New Millennium

------

We've come all this way
To the New Millennium
2000 years
A big celebration

There's a lot of history
That's happened through years and years
Although this New Millennium
Some people might have fears

There's no need to worry
Let's get together and sing
Nobody knows yet
What the New Millennium will bring

By Regina Walshe

Millennium

------

1000 years gone by
Let's celebrate
A new Millennium
1st of January is the party date.
2.
We've had singers and bands
A new Millennium bridge too!
That was made especially
Just for me and you.

By Aoife Mc Cambridge.

Millennium

------

About 1000 years ago
we had a thing called war.
It was bad it was a killing year.
I think it was very unfair.

Then came the famine.
It was very sad.
They only had potatoes
Which were all taken away from them.
Then they ate Indian corn.
I hope this new millennium
will be a very good one
No war, no famine and loads of food.

By David O'Donoghue

The New Beginning

------

The old Millennium
Is over
The new one has
Just begun
2
Now its time
To party
And to have a
Bit of fun
3
The Peace talks
Have agreed
And I hope they
Succeed
4
To bring some
Peace to Ireland
Where there will
Be happiness once again

By Margaret Allen

Out With the Old, in With the New

------

1
Out goes our old millennium
So many things have gone by
With coke and computers
And with peace and progress in the North

2
Watch out here it comes
So many things could happen soon
With the bugs and the books
We say goodbye

3
Even though it's a new beginning
There are so many things that aren't so nice
Cause we have a war in our world
And it's not just going to go away
