Book Week

Book Week took place at the beginning of March. All pupils took part in activities to encourage a love of Reading.

Library

The  Library looked particularly attractive as pupils' literary works were displayed. The senior classes wrote poetry, reviewed a selection of books and dramatised the characters of popular novels. Each child received a Book Coupon which entitled them to a discount on the purchase of a book of their choice in local bookshops.

The Book Fair took place during the last week of April.  Pupils were given the opportunity to purchase  books  of their choice from a large selection, and the school received a sizeable contribution of new books for our own library to the value of £1,080.

On May 23rd, 2001, well-known Author and T.V. Personality, Don Conroy, visited the school. He talked about his books, illustrated characters from his books and entertained the pupils with stories and jokes. He was received with great enthusiasm by all the classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. A large selection of his popular books are available in our school library.
