         Israel

I have been living in Israel for nine months.

My father took my brother and I there on the fifth of May 2000. We lived in a town called Nahariya. It is one of the nearest towns to the Israel and Lebanon Border .Nahariya is a very clean and tidy place. There are  people to sweep up dirt and leaves every day.

Our Accommodation

We lived in a two storey Apartment with a garden and a balcony. Across the road from us was the Mayor's house and beside us was the beach.  Down the road was the Rollerblade Park with a basketball, football and hockey court.

People

The people were tanned and mostly had black hair and brown eyes. Their Holy Day is on Saturday. It is called "Shabbat".  Their native language is Hebrew.  The year in Israel is 1561. They eat shaurmas which are pita bread with vegetables. They also eat lots of fruit and olives.

Kibbutz

For the last two weeks we stayed in a Kibbutz called Nes Ammim. It was a flower kibbutz. A kibbutz is a community where people from all over the world  live and work together.

U. N. Medals

My family and I got   U.N. medals for staying in Israel during the war which is still going on. At the end of the nine months we travelled home through Europe in our U.N.P 1211 car. We travelled through Cyprus, Greece, Italy, France, England. My whole experience was brilliant.
