Hi. Welcome to my Web page.

It is all about bees.

Here is a poem I made up:

 Bumble Bees

Bumble bees come rushing in

For the pollen on the trees

As they leave they drop a seed

To make a new tree grow.

           The new tree grows

          The bees come back

To collect more pollen to bring back

To their humble home upon the tree

Where they feed their baby bees.

Facts about Bees

1) Bees are found all over the world and there are thousands of different kinds.

2) The bees are vegetarians, feeding on the nectar and pollen of flowers, while most wasps prey on other insects.

3) Bees have six legs. They have three body parts: the head, the thorax and the abdomen.

4) Bees and honey bees are more active in dull weather, but other kinds of bees are creatures of sunshine.

5) Bees are never far from flowers.

6) A bee has a tube-like tongue, sometimes their tongue is as long as their body.

7) Only the female bee collects pollen.

8) Bees do a lot to fertilize the flowers, plants and trees.

9) The pollen of the male flowers gets brushed off on to the female ones which will then turn into seeds or fruit and produce new plants, in turn providing pollen and nectar for later generations of bees.

10) A female bee has what is sometimes called a honey-stomach or crop, where the nectar she swallows is changed into honey.

11) This honey can be forced from the crop up to the mouth and used, mixed with pollen, to feed the young.

12) The female bee is the only one that stings.
